Breakfast is considered a bit of an event, so look forward to a full Scottish breakfast using the best produce such as bacon and sausages from the local butcher and organic, free-range eggs from a neighbouring farm.  In season, the tomatoes are from the greenhouse and there is fruit from the garden.  Needless to say, the jams and marmalades are home made and there is honey from our own beehives, if available.

Since Edenbank is “home from home”, breakfast is when you want it and not when we want you to eat it, so any reasonable hour is acceptable.  We cater for vegetarians, diabetics and those who require a gluten-free diet.  All you need to do is tell Christine, in advance that you require something.

Your breakfast is served in the dining room, a huge, south-facing room with views across the lawns to the farm.  This room, like all the others, has been re-furbished but we have kept the dark, scumbled oak paintwork which dates from 1895.  It would have been a travesty to cover it up since it is a reminder that the paintwork throughout the rest of the house was once the same.
